De Klerenpartij
(2025–ongoing)A speculative platform for collective conversations about clothing.
What if clothes had a voice?
De Klerenpartij (The Clothing Party) uses the language of politics to look at clothes as participants in the systems that shape our daily lives.
Through co-creation and public interventions, De Klerenpartij creates space to question how clothing is made, used, valued and discarded. It invites people to imagine alternatives and to explore what a more caring relationship with clothing could look like.
In 2026, De Klerenpartij organised a staged council meeting during State of Fashion in Arnhem. Together with Arnhem city councillors, professionals from across the value chain and members of the public, participants debated and voted on motions for a fairer, more circular and local clothing system. All motions were adopted, turning the assembly into a collective exercise in imagining how clothing policy could shape a different future.
De Klerenpartij is an ongoing initiative. New council meetings, interventions and collaborations are currently in development.
Whether you're curious, want to join a conversation or bring De Klerenpartij to your city, organisation or community, we'd love to hear from you.
